Fuel Forward: Propelling Transportation with Natural Gas

Is Natural Gas the Fuel of the Future?

Heavy-duty trucks and buses running on natural gas reduce GHG emissions by an estimated 15 to 25 per cent, as compared to diesel trucks and buses.

Please join the Van Horne Institute Calgary Economic Development, and the Canada West Foundation on March 21, 2012 for a conference that will explore the future of natural gas as a transportation fuel.

W.A. Sam Shaw, Vice President of Natural Gas Policy Development, Encana, will provide the keynote address, followed by two panel discussions. Dean Foreman, Chief Economist, Talisman Energy will lead the Natural Gas panel. Alicia Milner, President, Canadian Natural Gas Vehicles, Karen Hamberg, Director, Sustainability and Environmental Performance, Westport Innovations, and Russell Davies, Manager, Transit Fleet, Calgary Transit are confirmed for the Transportation panel.

Fuel Forward: Propelling Transportation with Natural Gas will introduce and showcase new innovations and examine how natural gas can be moved forward as a marketable alternative to other fuel options.

The Van Horne Institute is pleased to present this certificate short course providing an overview and framework of project management processes, tools and applications.

Module 1 of the course will include the application of management principles and tools to the project environment; planning, control, scope, time and cost processes; project organization and human resource issues. Participants will explore the practical applications of project management techniques through the review of case studies to understand best practices (morning)

Module 2 of the course will include a structured approach of risk analysis and management, incorporate risks and uncertainties to develop schedules and estimates, level of accuracy and contingency, simulation applications, case studies and applications (afternoon)
