Peter Wallis is the President & CEO of The Van Horne Institute, which is recognized within Canada and internationally as a North American leader in education and public policy research in transportation, supply chain management, logistics, and regulated industries.
Peter Wallis’ career has included senior positions at Canadian Airlines and in Ottawa as Legal Counsel for the Canadian Transport Commission and Executive Assistant to two federal ministers of transport. Mr. Wallis is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and serves on the Board of the Calgary International Film Festival and Fort McMurray Airport Authority, Tourism Calgary, and AEDA (Alberta Economic Development Authority). He is Past President of the Calgary Airport Authority, Past President of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, and Past Vice-Chair of the Calgary Homeless Foundation.
Peter Wallis was recently awarded an honorary life membership by the Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC). He was born in Toronto, Ontario, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall and a Master of Laws from the University of London (England).

Manager, Strategic Development & Member Relations
Bryndis Whitson is the Manager of Strategic Development and Member Relations at the Van Horne Institute, which is recognized within Canada and internationally as a North American leader in education and public policy research in transportation, supply chain management, logistics, and regulated industries. She oversees marketing and communications initiatives, conferences and events, and stakeholder relationship strategies at the Institute.
Bryndis joined the Van Horne Institute in August 2011. Before the Van Horne, she worked at the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST), the Senate of Canada, and the City of Calgary. In 2010, Bryndis was named one of the Top 20 Compelling Calgarians by the Calgary Herald and was proud when her 2009 youth education program was recognized in the top 3 in the country by the Donner Foundation, in assistance with the Fraser Institute.
Bryndis holds a double Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies, Geography, and Political Science with an equivalent minor in Transportation from the University of Calgary. She sits on the boards for the National Women's Commission, the Canadian Club of Calgary, and Equal Voice Alberta South, volunteers in the Calgary community, with organizations, such as Girl Guides of Canada, and is a Calgary Stampeders Season Ticket Holder.

Julia Stickel is the Manager of Strategic Development and Member Relations at the Van Horne Institute, which is recognized within Canada and internationally as a North American leader in education and public policy research in transportation, supply chain management, logistics, and regulated industries.
Julia oversees marketing and communications initiatives, conferences and events, and stakeholder relationship strategies at the Institute.
Prior to joining the Institute in 2008, Julia worked as a Communications Advisor on the federal election campaign for The Honorable Jim Flaherty, and prior to her stint in politics, she worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Calgary and taught communications while she completed her Master's Degree in Communication Studies. Julia also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations from Taylor University.

Gail serves the Institute as the Executive Assistant. She oversees invoicing, purchasing, and meeting arrangements. Gail joined the Van Horne in 2000. Her previous experience in Public Service working for organizations, such as CMHC, makes Gail an excellent in her role.
